Triple H has worked with many superstars over the last 15 years and Val Venis is also one of them. The two superstars engaged in a singles battle on Monday Night RAW in November 2005.
During the match, when Triple H attacked him with a steel chair during the fight, Venis was declared the winner by way of disqualification.
The new WWE CCO Triple H reportedly delivered a brutal chair shot to the former IC Champion’s skull, causing him to lose his memory.
In a conversation with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Venis revealed that Triple H’s head shot on television was indeed the toughest he had ever taken and it temporarily impaired his memory:
“He struck me with the chair as I turned around. When my eyes initially opened, I had no remembrance of anything. There were only lights, people, and a fighting ring visible on one side of me.”
“Furthermore, I was unsure about my own name. I was there for an unexplained reason. I was clueless as to what I should do. It was only a matter of two or three seconds, but it felt like an eternity,” he claimed.
Following Triple H’s chair strike, Val Venis was afraid.
The action was resumed by Triple H and Val Venis following a crushing head shot. Venis was dragged into the ring again by HHH and then got struck with a pedigree.
The 51-year-old provided additional details about his emotions between taking the chair shot and regaining consciousness during the same interview:
“Your marbles suddenly reassemble, and you realise that you are still engaged in a battle. Even though he was DQed, he’s going to pull me back into the ring and deliver me the pedigree, so I need to finish this off right away.
He continued :
“But I won’t lie, that’s a terrifying, terrifying thing those initial moments when you look up and come to, not knowing who you are or what you’re up to. That’s how I experienced, terrified, as when you get scared. During those initial few seconds, I felt like some kind of child.”
