Since his participation in the horrible All Out backstage melee involving Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, CM Punk has been pretty much silent on social media.
On Thursday, however, the seasoned fighter shared an encouraging post on his Instagram account in the stories section, which put an end to his social media silence.
The post featured a screenshot of Punk’s rehab summary and an optimistic update on the leg injury he sustained in June 2022. Laura Jane Grace’s “Day Old Coffee” was playing in the background.
CM Punk also offered advice to others struggling with a similar kind of injury through the post.
The Best in The World wrote, “First time doing road work since the fractured foot.” For everyone going through it, remember that you are the light at the end of the tunnel.
Earlier, just a few days after defeating “Hangman” Adam Page at Double or Nothing to win the AEW World Championship, CM Punk revealed on the June 1 episode of “AEW Dynamite” that he had hurt his foot when diving into a crowd of people.
When Punk and FTR competed in a Trios Match, Punk admitted he probably “hit his foot on the top of the guard rail” during his entry and “didn’t feel right” when he tried a springboard manoeuvre.
Following surgery for a broken foot on June 8, CM Punk had three rods and 16 bolts put in his foot. Following his foot surgery, Punk did come back to fight twice, both times against Jon Moxley.
However, his most recent social media post indicates that he was probably still recovering from the injury during those two encounters in August and September.
Moreover, after his match at All Out, Punk had yet another injury that required surgery for a torn left triceps.
During the pre-Full Gear presser on Thursday, as was previously reported, AEW Founder Tony Khan declined to speak on CM Punk’s status with the organisation but thanked him for his “good” services to the company since coming in August 2021.
Several rumours have claimed that Punk, a two-time AEW World Champion, is now discussing a contract buyout with AEW while still out due to a torn triceps.
