WWE is always looking to build talented athletes into the next mainstream stars of tomorrow. Sometimes, one attempt is more than enough to get them over with the WWE Universe.
Other times, even multiple attempts fail. There have been multiple stars in the company who have failed to make a major mark, despite numerous chances.
Here are the Top 5 WWE Superstars who have failed despite getting a big push on multiple occasions:
1. Carmella is no longer relevant
Carmella was brought to the main roster in 2016 to be pushed as a singles star. She had a good start on SmackDown, being featured in matches with stars like Nikki Bella and Natalya.
Mella even clinched the SmackDown Women’s championship at one occasion which signaled her rise to the top. However, it has been downfall for Carmella ever since then.
Carmella has been pushed multiple times through storylines and gimmick changes. But she has yet to ascend as a marquee star of the women’s division.

2. Finn Balor has been unlucky
Finn Balor has been given several opportunities to become one of the top-tier WWE superstar of this generation. A Demon King persona, numerous championship wins and even a highly successful stint in NXT ― Balor had it all.
Furthermore, his last stint in NXT was a sign that things will be different for him moving forward. However, he found himself lost in the shuffle once again on the main roster much like his last stint.
But he is looking to bounce back with his current run as the leader of The Judgment Day faction, being yet another opportunity.
3. Shinsuke Nakamura doesn’t look as credible as he was in NXT
The Japanese sensation Shinsuke Nakamura was brought in by WWE to become the top star representing the country. Multiple attempts have been made to establish him as a rising star ever since his arrival on the WWE main roster.
However, Nakamura has failed to connect with the audience on every occasion and is yet to recognised as a top star on the roster.
4. Kevin Owens has wasted a big push so many times in WWE
Kevin Owens, although has won multiple championships and even main evented WrestleMania, has still yet to taste the bright lights of a being a top attraction of WWE. After the major win against John Cena, his stock has only went down.
His first championship run was quite lackluster. Despite countless opportunities after that and being an exceptional in-ring talent, KO has not really become a credible star much like a Seth Rollins, Randy Orton or Roman Reigns. He doesn’t look like a real threat anymore.
5. Robert Roode hasn’t done well on WWE main roster
Robert Roode was perceived to become a mega star right from the arrival to WWE in 2016. He had the look, captivating personality and amazing in-ring acumen. However, Robert’s talent and outlook never earned him the spot in the main event in his entire WWE run until now.
The only time he was in the top level scene of WWE was during his stint back in 2017. But he has failed to capitalize on his push multiple times since then.
