Kevin Nash, a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, revealed why Booker T declined the offer to join the iconic nWo faction (New World Order) in WCW.
In all of WCW’s programming from 1993 to 2001, Booker was a mainstay. The Houston, Texas native enjoyed five separate reigns as WCW World Champion during this time.
However, Booker never joined the renowned nWo faction during his time in WCW. When WWE bought WCW, Booker would eventually join NWO in later iterations of the group.
Booker T discussed the NWO’s offer on his own podcast last year, but he gave many justifications for originally declining the request.
Booker T said :
“It was just something I didn’t want to participate in. I didn’t want to go out to that particular music while mixing it up with a bunch of other guys. Yes, you must alter your behaviour and work habits if you are a member of such group.”
Now, in a recent podcast, Kevin Nash talked about Booker’s rejection to join the faction.
Despite being lobbied for, the former King of the Ring Booker T was not enthusiastic about joining the nWo, Nash told on his ‘Kliq This’ podcast.
The reason the WWE Hall of Famer turned down the faction’s offer was subsequently explained by Nash.
I still recall Booker T’s response when we invited him to join the NWO: “F*ck no, man. You guys work way too much.”
It’s significant to mention that Booker T has previously expressed his dislike of the iconic faction’s theme song. Was that too big a reason for Booker to reject the offer?
It’s unclear if he detested the group’s song more or the notion of working harder. In the future, hopefully, he will respond to Nash’s remarks.
