On this week’s episode of WWE RAW, JBL, the former champion, unexpectedly made a return and teamed up with Corbin. JBL seems to be taking up Corbin’s management duties on Raw.
Following his alliance with JBL on the most recent episode of RAW, WWE Superstar Baron Corbin has updated his name on his official Twitter profile.
Long-time followers are aware that JBL once referred to himself as “Wrestling God” when he was actively competing.
This week, during his comeback to Raw, JBL referred to Corbin as the “Modern Day Wrestling God.”
Corbin has updated his Twitter name to reflect the nickname JBL assigned him, suggesting that he absolutely loved it.
The updated name on his profile can be seen below.
JBL and Happy Corbin have many similarities
JBL and Baron Corbin share a number of traits. JBL was the finest antagonist in the entire WWE in the middle of the 2000s, and he frequently elicited a huge response from the audience.
JBL defeated wrestlers like The Undertaker, Eddie Guerrero, Booker T, and The Big Show during his 280-day WWE championship reign in 2004–2005.
When John Cena ultimately ousted him at WrestleMania 21, people could finally start breathing in peace. Such was his character in those days.
At this time, Baron Corbin has been a part of WWE for almost ten years. Although never taking home the grand prize, he has done fairly well for himself during the last ten years.
Corbin has won the André the Giant Memorial Trophy, Money in the Bank (couldn’t cash in), and the US Championship in the past.
He is regarded by many fans to be among the best heels of the current age. However, he has not been booked properly for quite sometime.
We have to wait and see what this new alliance with JBL means for his career.
