Cody Rhodes has been away from in-ring action since the Raw after WWE Hell in a Cell. Actually, he had got injured even before the Hell in a Cell match with Rollins.
Now a big update has come out regarding his return. Earlier it was expected that Cody Rhodes might come back at Royal Rumble. It was also reported that his recovery was slow.
However, according to the new reports, he could appear in the ring much before the Royal Rumble. Cody might return at Day 1 premium live event.
Cody Rhodes would soon return to the ring
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer recently gave a big update about the injury to Cody. He has reported that Rhodes is recovering fast and feels better now.
Talking about the injury status of Rhodes, he said,
“Cody Rhodes is recovering fast. He is working with DDP. Things are normal in his day to day life, but he still can’t lift much weight with his upper body.”
Meltzer also talked about his return. He said,
“Right now about his return, no date has been set but we can see his return soon. He was earlier supposed to return at Royal Rumble but maybe he can return in Atlanta, the place where he grew up and still resides.”
Cody Rhodes may challenge Roman Reigns
He further told that Cody can also challenge Roman Reigns next year. He said in his report that in 2023, WWE will have options like Cody Rhodes, Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman opponents of Roman Reigns.
If Lashley defeats Brock Lesnar in the upcoming match, then he would also be considered as one of the potential challengers to Roman Reigns.
