By the end of the Attitude Era, Brock Lesnar had become a sensation. He ruled the division, left the business, and then came back in 2012.
The Beast Incarnate has shared the ring with a number of WWE superstars during his career spanning well over two decades.
However, he reportedly didn’t want to work with former US Champion Kevin Owens, according to a recent revelation by WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg.
When Brock Lesnar overcame Goldberg at WrestleMania 33 to win the Universal Championship, he took revenge for his two defeats at the hands of The Icon.
However, Kevin Owens, the previous champion, was never able to get the title shot that he deserved. Ownens had lost the Universal Championship to Goldberg at Fastlane.
Later, at Survivor Series 2017, Brock Lesnar was scheduled to compete against WWE Champion Jinder Mahal in a Champion vs. Champion bout. Sadly, the game was called off.
Veteran Road Dogg revealed on the Oh You Didn’t Know show that Brock Lesnar had no issues with Jinder Mahal but he did refuse to work with Kevin Owens.
Speaking of Lesnar’s match with Jinder Mahal at Survivor Series being scrapped and replaced by a match with AJ Styles, Road Dogg said :
“To be clear, it wasn’t that he didn’t really want work with Jinder. He genuinely believed that he might be a better fit with AJ. I simply wanted to make that clear.”
“Look, I don’t believe Brock has ever stated that I am not working with that individual. Well, I did hear it, but only in regard to Kevin Owens.”
It was probably the main reason why Kevin Owens was removed from the Universal Championship picture, and put into a feud with Chris Jericho for US Championship.
