Kurt Angle reveals that a WWE veteran was fired when he forgot his line

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently talked about his former manager and wrestling legend Bob Backlund.

Kurt Angle revealed that Bob had forgotten his line during a live segment, due to which he was fired from WWE.

In case you didn’t know, veteran pro-wrestler Bob Backlund returned to WWE in 2000-01. He was a part of Raw roster.

Although the fans showed a lot of excitement for Backlund, he was soon fired by WWE. The reasons for firing him didn’t come out.

Former WWE Champion Kurt Angle made many revelations about Bob Backlund

Former WWE Champion Kurt Angle was talking about Hall of Famer Bob Backlund on the Kurt Angle Show podcast.

During this, he has made many interesting revelations about Bob. He told that Bob Backlund was once asked to lock Chris Benoit in the Crippler Crossface, but he did not do so.

Talking about this incident, he said,

“Backlund was supposed to put the crippler crossface on Benoit while he was sitting, and Bob didn’t want to do it because he wasn’t standing up. I was like, ‘Holy sh*t.”

Angle revealed that Bob also forgot his lines during a segment, and asked the team to re-take it. He didn’t knew that the event was being shot live at that moment.

Angle thinks that this incident might have been the major cause of WWE firing Backlund.

“I think that was the deciding factor. When Bob went and did that, they just went, ‘We’ve had enough of Bob Backlund, we’re gonna move on,'” said Angle [H/T WrestlingInc]

Kurt Angle was managed on-screen by Bob Backlund when he came back to WWE in 2000-01. Angle told that it was fun being with Backlund in WWE.

Kurt Angle also said that he would have loved to wrestle Backlund, as of them shared an amateur wrestling background before coming to WWE.
