Former WWE executive and legendary wrestler Dutch Mantell has criticised Kevin Owens’ physique, stating that he resembles a “cab driver” instead of a typical pro wrestler.
Kevin Owens signed a contract with WWE in 2014, after spending a number of years wrestling on indie circuit. He became NXT champion before being drafted to the main roster in 2016.
On his talk show Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the legendary wrestler made the statement that Kevin Owens doesn’t seem like a typical professional wrestler.
He said this while discussing Kevin Owens’ latest conflict with Roman Reigns following Survivor Series: War Games.
“When you look at Owens, you can’t tell he has a body or a tan; instead, he appears like a cab driver about to enter his cab. This is why Owens is getting a lot of heat. Despite being a great worker, his appearance or physical characteristics don’t match the profession he works in.” said Mantell.
The veteran WWE executive also mentioned that he has come to learn that during fights, Owens frequently gets exhausted.
“I think they say he still blows up (gets exhausted during a match). He probably exercises for 15 minutes every night, which theoretically should keep you in decent condition, but I’m not sure.”
The last match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship took place at the Royal Rumble in January 2021. KO was unable to overpower the Tribal Chief, though.
The two recently were at odds when The Bloodline competed in a WarGames Match at Survivor Series against Owens, Drew McIntyre, and The Brawling Brutes.
Kevin stated that he wants a second chance to challenge the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion in a conversation with After the Bell.
